Mental Health & Nature

This week 15 – 21st May 2023 is Mental Heath Awareness week.
According to the NHS, one in 4 adults and one in 10 children experience mental illness, such as anxiety, stress or depression.

People often overlook the importance of spending time in nature.
The healing effects of nature are amazing and always available.

Walking mindfully allows us to consciously connect with the soil under our feet and let the negative ions of the Earth wash through us, taking away the positive ones, created through stress, anger, frustration, etc. Therefore nature not only grounds our energy, but cleanses it too.

Looking up to the gorgeous Blue of the sky, which is the most calming colour of all and breathing in the fresh air frees our spirit and allows us to expand beyond our physical body. It calms your mind too, as you are connecting with your breath.

Spending time next to water, whether it is a spring, a lake, the sea or a water feature in your garden soothes your emotions.

The light and fire of the Sun lifts your spirit and vitalises you…

Walking daily, even if it is a 10 minutes brisk walk increases our energy, reduces stress and anxiety and creates a more positive mood.

If you feel called to work with me either in a healing or coaching session or the two combined, we can address the energy imbalance in your being that creates mental illness of some sort.

I look forward to connecting with you.
