Not long ago I was writing about Hematite the healing stone, which helps you to boost your self-esteem. One of the other properties of this healing crystal is aiding insomnia.
My personal approach to any health problem is starting with the natural solution rather than turning to medication. I work with energy, so I am aware of how important it is to sleep in an energetically balanced environment. Beyond that you need to make sure your body and mind is ready to sleep too.
1. First of all your bedroom should be tidy and clean.
It sounds boring, isn’t it, but I really mean it; there shouldn’t be any clutters in it. Yes, these unnecessary or piled up items are absolutely useless. They do collect dust, but worse than that they are the best place for stagnant energy, which you don’t want anywhere in your house, especially not in your bedroom. The energy should flow nicely in and around you in your home. Please find a solution to get better organised with your wardrobe and nicely pack away everything you don’t use all the time.
It is really important. Let me explain why. When we are not happy or even angry positive ions are being released from our body. They cause tension and it’s more likely people start arguing again if the energy is not being cleared, because it can’t flow freely. These positive ions can get stuck in the corners of our rooms.
As I have already mentioned cleaning and tidying your room raises energies in your environment anyway. To enhance this effect you can use Nag Champa Shimmering Granules to clear negative energies around you. These granules can be used in an oil burner or by simply placing them in a decorative ball to let the fragrance fill the room. Some crystals are also good at cleansing the environment. For example Clear Quartz is a good stone to raise energies in your bedroom. Now talking about crystals another idea crossed my mind. You could use Rose Quartz, The Stone of Unconditional Love too. It is a gentle healing stone, which helps opening your heart and creating a loving atmosphere.
2. Having a television in your bedroom is not a good idea.
Watching violent movies until late at night disturb your thoughts and your relaxation process. From the point of conscious living you should really select very wisely what program you watch, and how much time you spend in front of your adored television. And the reason behind this unpopular statement is your subconscious mind receives far too much negative influence from it, which is very difficult to balance with the same amount of positive ones. Have you ever tried to change your bad habits by thinking positively? It is not easy, is it? You see what I mean.
3. Pamper yourself with a relaxing bath
A hot bath before bed can be very calming. Be careful though; do not have a heavy meal before that. Having a light small meal is beneficial for your sleep too. In this case your tummy doesn’t have to struggle with digesting, when it should be getting ready for switching to night mode anyway. To enhance the calming effects of your bath add chamomile and lavender scents to your bath water.
4. Burn candles and incense sticks
Before going to bed burning candles and using incense sticks is generally good for creating a romantic atmosphere. Dim lighting also helps to calm you down, and the fragrance has an impact on your other senses. Use Red Rose incense stick to help you relax after a busy day. This fragrance opens the heart and promotes a calm feeling of love.
5. Meditate, read a book or listen to relaxing music
Before going to bed you should relax by reading a book, listening to calming music or by meditating. I love to listen to Doreen Virtue’s Chakra Clearing (CD): A Morning and Evening Meditation to Awaken Your Spiritual Power before going to sleep. It’s about 20 minutes long, her voice is very calming and helps to get rid of all the stress and annoying thoughts you suffered from during the day whilst guiding you to a relaxed state of mind. It’s so calming sometimes I fall asleep before it finishes.
Try my advices and don’t forget, your thoughts are very powerful. Use them for your advantage. Create positive affirmations for yourself to help you to get to a place of tranquillity and enjoy a good night sleep.
