What if I can’t do it?

What if I can’t do it?

Believe me, you can! 12 years ago I have started off thinking I just can’t do it. I have tried very hard, but it didn’t work. However I am not one for giving up. It took me a while, but I have tried many different ways, and I came to understand there is more than one way to meditate and it doesn’t need to be the same for everyone. I got such good results with it, I learnt them to teach others, so they do not have to spend years to get to the same conclusion. So if you feel like:

I can’t switch my mind off,

I don’t know how to empty my mind,

I am unable to visualise,

I can’t stay still,

I can’t see colours,

I can’t relax, etc.

I know for sure, you can. I base this statement on two things.

  1. You are a soul, it’s built into your system. You are always connected to your soul self. However your mind can interfere through your beliefs.
  2. Working with many of my clients and workshop participants in 11 years. They came from different backgrounds, with different issues, and sooner or later they have managed to find their way to meditation. So you can too.

As for trying to empty your mind, you do not need to do such thing. The nature of your thoughts is to constantly come and go. All you need to do is to learn to work around them. So acknowledge them, and do not to engage with them. What usually helps is to imagine soap bubbles floating around your head. You pop one thought into each one of the soap bubble, so now your thoughts are floating around your head. If some thoughts keep bothering you, don’t fight with them, just try to ignore them.
